I was puttering again today, much to my chargrin...

Today was spent waffling between working on blood affects and bruise progression in MS Paint -- and while I've pretty much got blood splattering down pat (yes it is TOTALLY possible...), bruises will be a touch more difficult...

For one, everyone seems to bruise differently, and the discoloration -- while keeping to an overall theme -- will be slightly different from person to person. So, if I REALLY wanted to be picky, it would mean building a different progression for every individual flesh tone series I create...

I don't have the patience for that right now...

Aside from that, there was very little work done on MxC today. The chapter was going, going, going...and then it smacked into a brick wall. So, I have to let it sit for a while and not touch it. Hopefully, it will pick up tomorrow...

In the meantime, though, I think I figured out how to get my jewelry documented via camera!

Rather than use the scanning method -- which would be fairly tricky ANYWAY because I have one of those frigging printer/scanner/copier freaks of nature and there's always some form of a tradeoff with our particular model of beast -- someone suggested using natural lighting. So, I set up a test site outside on the back deck, and the picture, though dark, was at least clear! Yay!

So, I intend to skive the camera from Dad tomorrow when there's a little bit more sun out. If I time it for later in the afternoon so that the direct sunlight is more towards the front and not the back, but it's still fairly clear out, the results should be okay enough for me to work with...

Here's hoping!

Of course, if the weather is crap, that will be an issue, but let's not go there...
