But, it was my last official day of work over at Anne's -- which made me sad. But, she once again assured me that she would be keeping me in mind in the event she needs me, so I'm rather disinclined to write it off a false-hope to make the letting go easier for either of us. I certainly hope that's the case...
More than that, I just hope that she gets Cricket back in the winter, because I know then she'll actually need help and I'll be there every week again.
Still, Anne was very kind to me. We wrapped up way early this afternoon, so she drove me home and paid me twice what I normally get for a nice sen-off. "Put it to the Ren. Faire," she told me.
Anne, I fully intend to...
In all, I wouldn't trade the time I spent there for anything. It wasn't so much about the money as it was about the horses. When I first started work with Anne, I told her about the three recent deaths in the family plus my own lack of progress in life, and I explained that, for right now, I just needed something -- and while I may have taken it for granted somewhat that it was always going to be there, I was so thankful to have it like you wouldn't believe...
So, Anne drove me back to my house, I shook her hand, thanked her again, and if nothing else, thought to myself that I can use her for a referrence if and when I plan to seek employment elsewhere.
In all, kind of a bitter-sweet note to today, but that's better than nothing.
Also, we got the cats to the vet's today -- or, rather, just ONE cat to the vet's.
Hobbes, who is unbelievably trusting, came out as soon as we shook the treat bag to lure him out. Aya, on the other hand, wasn't hearing ANY of it. She hid under the computer station for several minutes until my nephew ratted her out. When I finally managed to pry her out from under there, she bolted downstairs into the basement...
...We now have her rescheduled for sometime next week...
According to Jenn, though, as soon as Mom and I left, Aya came right out of hiding, looking terribly smug and triumphant. Frigging cat.
Anyway, the only other thing I've done today was figure out a glow progression for energy and whatnot -- and so far, all experiements with shading and airbrushes is very encoraging. The next step is to find out if it works with different manners of backdrops instead of just white...
After that, energy streams...
But for right now, I'm going to grab some ice cream.
Until next!

I had a simular send off from my job . . . shook my old boss' hand, thanked him and left . . . bittersweet, with him being terribly apologetic about the whole thing

Anne is a good woman -- I don't hold anything against her. More than that, she knows that people are looking for jobs, so she's sympthetic from that end. I just REALLY hope she'll give me a call if she needs anything...
You know, I once had to lock Aya and myself in the bathroom just to get her crated. It was probably the only time she hissed at me out of malice...

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS PG-RATED TROUBLE!!
Cats can get so nasty about going to the vet . . . my parents had a cat by the name of Gremlin who actually had the vet afraid of her . . . she really hated him.
